Weekly wrap for Redcliffe, Monday July 17

Police resources from Moreton District combined in a joint operation with the Police Railway Squad in the Redcliffe Police Division on July 12.  Seventeen officers from Redcliffe Station, Moreton District Tactical Crime Squad, Moreton South Criminal Investigation Branch and Deception Bay Road Policing Command were deployed.  The operation was conducted around the time of the third State of Origin match played in Brisbane and targeted train stations and licenced premises within the Redcliffe Peninsula.

As a result of this operation, three offenders were arrested on seven charges and three warrants were executed.

A 24-year-old man from Amamoor has been charged with alleged offences of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing a drug utensil, possessing a knife in public, failing to wear an approved bicycle helmet and a bail act offence.

He will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on August 3.

A 26-year-old Kippa Ring man has been charged with alleged offence of possessing a dangerous drug. He will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 31.

A 26-year-old Kippa Ring woman was allegedly detected drink driving and driving whilst unlicensed on Lions Cresent, Kippa Ring. She returned an alleged breath test reading of 0.124 per cent BAC.

The woman will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 25.

Police conducted 120 roadside breath tests and issued nine traffic infringement notices. Sixteen street checks were also made of persons intercepted.

Most importantly, operations such as this one assist in keeping the community safe.

Traffic

July 12 – Two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Chelsea Street at Rothwell, with one vehicle colliding with the rear of the other. One driver received treatment at hospital for minor injuries.

Police are still investigating.

July 13 – Non injury traffic crash on Macdonnell Road, Margate. Traffic infringement notice was issued at the scene by police for failing to give way whilst making a U turn.

 

Burglary

July 8 to July 9 – A dwelling was unlawfully entered in Greygum Court, Rothwell via a sliding door. Property has been stolen.

July 11 to July 12 – A dwelling was unlawfully entered in Maryborough Terrace, Scarborough. Keys were taken for a vehicle parked at the address which was then stolen. The occupants were home at the time of the offence. The vehicle was recovered by police at Eagle Farm on July 14.

An 18-year-old Redbank Plains man was charged with the alleged offence of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He will appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on August 7.

Two other male juveniles aged 14 and 15 were also charged and will appear in the Brisbane Childrens Court on August 11.

July 13 – A dwelling was unlawfully entered in Kirribilli Street, Kippa Ring via a rear door. Jewellery items were stolen.

Steal from/enter motor vehicle

July 11 to July 12 – A Honda Accord sedan left insecure on Percy Street, Redcliffe was entered and stolen from. A MP3 player, cash, keys and a mobile phone were stolen.

A Jeep Wrangler wagon on Percy Street, Redcliffe was entered by the soft top. A walkie talkie, shoes, iphone accessory and a water purifier were stolen.

A Holden Cruze sedan left insecure on Oyster Point Esplanande, Scarborough was entered and stolen from. A laptop, wallet and personal cards stolen. The property recovered by police at Deception Bay on July 15.

A 22-year-old Deception Bay man was served with a notice to appear for the alleged offence of possession of tainted property.

He will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 25.

July 12 – Drill bits and a security strap were stolen from insecure toolbox in a Ford Ranger Utility parked on Brunel Street, Kippa Ring.

July 13 to July 14 – A red Gomier brand adult tricycle was removed from the box trailer of a vehicle left parked in a driveway on Macdonnell Road, Margate.

July 15 to July 16 – Two registration plates (508WPU) were removed from a Kia Rio sedan parked in a driveway on Elizabeth Avenue, Clontarf.  .

Tool box was entered and substantial amount of builders tools were stolen from a Isuzu utility parked on Kagara Street, Kippa Ring.

Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle

July 11 – A blue Toyota Camry was stolen from Houghton Avenue Redcliffe. The vehicle was recovered by police on July 12 in Maryborough Terrace at Scarborough. The vehicle was still running and it is believed to be related to a nearby offence where another vehicle was stolen.
